We have secured a preliminary amount of funding and a $70,000 camera equipment sponsorship from Panavision in preparation for a 20 day shoot in August 2021.
We are now SEEKING a further 80K to complete the shoot.
For this venture we have partnered with the Australian Cultural Fund to qualify for 100% tax-deductible donations.
WHERE IS YOUR MONEY GOING?
Straight to young, emerging artists. We are employing a crew of SOUTH AUSTRALIAN artists who each will have an opportunity to contribute their own skills and talents to the project. ACF donations will be used toward covering ARTIST FEES, which means paying our crew for all of their hard work and talent.
WHY A MICRO-BUDGET FEATURE?
As young filmmakers trying to transition from shorts to features, we face a catch-22 paradox. Studios like to finance projects whose creators have already produced a feature-length film. That means filmmakers need a feature length calling card to be in the game, yet also need money to make that very calling card. This is where the micro-budget philosophy comes in and why this project is so important to the team of the emerging artists involved. We will create a cinematic, sophisticated film that will appeal to fans of this genre as well as be a candidate for high-end film festivals throughout the world. In turn, this will open us up to industry connections and further opportunities to continue on this path as emerging artists.
